Oversold Oil Service Stocks (HAL) (SLB)

I sold Halliburton (HAL) a while back. It is now time to revisit Halliburton. I would buy Halliburton or Schlumberger Limited (SLB) on Monday for a SHORT TERM TRADE. For those who want more risk I would buy calls. The fundamentals are great at both companies and the charts (full stochastics) are pointing to oversold levels. The down volume on both stocks is a concern.

Note: Invest at your own risk. This is not advice.

Two For Three

I was right about my long call on United Dominion Realty (UDR). Which is up about $1.50 since my call. My short call on Hansen Natural Corp (HANS) also proved to be a good one. I would cover the Hansen and take the 9% gain. It still goes lower in this market. I wish I would have followed my own advice and shorted Hansen. Sandisk (SNDK) was a bad call. If you followed my call you should have been stopped out by now. I never went long SNDK, only UDR. I would revist SNDK when the makret starts to turn more bullish on tech.

Double Top: Hansen Natural Corp (HANS)

Although the fundamentals look good for energy drink maker Hansen Natural Corp (HANS); the technicals point towards overbought levels. A possible double top with resistance around the $200 level. Keep Hansen on your radar. A breakout to the upside would be $205 on above average volume.

Invest at your own risk. This is not a recommendation.

Is Flash Memory A Buy? (SNDK) , (MU)

Hard drives are still the cheapest form of storage and they will still be used in DVR's and desktop computers for many years. There is no question that flash memory is the future of storage. Everybody wants thin laptops, mp3 players, digital cameras cell phones, and PDA's. Flash memory is the only way to have thin and durable devices.

Currently the largest flash based mp3 player is the 6 GB e270 made by Sandisk. The e270 competes directly with the 4 GB iPod Nano. If report(s) are true Sandisk will have an 8 GB player soon. I am sure Apple will come out with an even larger flash based mp3 player. There are reports that the price of flash memory is recovering and that Apple is buying all they can get their hands on.

"Gartner Research expects Apple to introduce by the fourth quarter a new, high-end NAND flash-based iPod with 10 to 12 gigabytes (GB) of storage capacity and a price point of about $250." (EEtimes.com)

Apple still needs to buy the NAND Flash memory from companies like Sandisk (SNDK) and Micron (MU). I think Sandisk (SNDK) is a compelling buy down almost 30 points from its 52-week high.

NOTE: I currently have no position in SNDK or MU. Soon to be long SNDK.
