Motorola (MOT) Jumps on Record Sales

Motorola (MOT) beat estimates by 2 cents excluding items. EPS were $0.30 (ex-items) or $0.69 (including items) compared to earnings of $0.20 a year ago. Reveune came in at $9.42 billion beating estimates of $9.1 billion. Earnings for Q4 are estimated to be between $0.32-$0.34 which is about in-line with current estimates. Motorola now has a 19% global market share (up 5.5%). They also shipped a record 38.7 million cell phones in the quarter. The stock traded up about $0.70 (3.47%) in after hours trading.
