Altria Beats Estimates - Earnings Up 9.3%
Altria (NYSE: MO) reported Q3 earnings this morning. Altria earned $1.38 compared to estimates of $1.33. Full year guidance is now $5.05-$5.10 (earnings per share). Q3 earnings were up 9.3% year over year ($1.28 vs. $1.38).
"Overall, 2005 is shaping up to be a year of robust progress for Altria," said Louis C. Camilleri, chairman and chief executive officer of Altria Group, Inc. "During the third quarter, particularly strong results in our tobacco businesses were partially offset by continuing challenges at Kraft.
Altria is one of my stocks picks for 2005-2006.
