"Google Base" Ready To Kill Ebay & Paypal

There has been a lot of chatter among bloggers this past week who were able to catch a screenshot of a new Google service that looks to compete with Ebay & Paypal. Google admits that they are developing a new "search platform" but deny that it will go after Ebay, which also owns Paypal. The service looks to be a free online listing database. The "free" part will kill Ebay, especially since Ebay plans to raise fees again in February. The Ebay killer is termed "Google Base." If you type in www.googlebase.com you get redirected to google.com. And if you try base.google.com you get a log in screen. When they launch this thing I believe Google's stock could easily shoot up 25-50 points in a single day.
